SILZ, Rotortrade to boost aviation, logistics in KSA

Saudi Arabia is set to open the Middle East and North Africa’s first fully integrated Helipark, strengthening its motive to become a major aviation and logistics hub. The 20,000-square-metre facility will be located inside Riyadh Integrated Logistics Zone and developed through a partnership between the Special Integrated Logistics Zone Company and Rotortrade. The Helipark will combine helicopter operations with logistics and supply chain services in a single location.

This Helipark is more than just a facility; it is a critical infrastructure that accelerates our transformation into a multimodal logistics powerhouse. By attracting world-class aviation service providers like Rotortrade, we are not only enabling global trade, but actively contributing to the localisation of advanced technical expertise, job creation, and the cementing of Saudi Arabia's role as the regional aviation hub.”

The site will support aircraft sales, maintenance, repairs, spare parts handling, and customisation. It will also function as a regional logistics hub for helicopter parts, allowing faster storage, distribution, and movement of critical components across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

The project will reduce turnaround times for operators by keeping maintenance, parts, and technical services within the Kingdom. It also limits the need to move aircraft and components overseas, cutting costs and delays. The Helipark is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to localise high-value logistics and aviation services. It is expected to create specialised jobs and attract global aviation and logistics players to Riyadh. Initial operations are expected to begin soon, reinforcing Riyadh’s growing role as a regional logistics and transport hub.
