SriLankan Cargo received the CEIV Lithium Batteries Certification from IATA, Chaminda Perera, Head, Cargo, SriLankan Airlines. It has become South Asia’s first airline cargo division to get certification, recognising its excellence in safely handling all cargo types, including sensitive lithium and sodium-ion battery shipments across the Middle East. “This certification marks a milestone for SriLankan Cargo, highlighting our ability to safely handle lithium and sodium-ion battery shipments as well as battery-powered equipment.  It removes operational barriers in the air transport of these products, allowing us to capitalise on the growing e-commerce sector and unlock new revenue opportunities,” Chaminda Perera said.
