DP World will construct a US$ 29 million cold storage facility in Egypt, aimed at boosting agricultural exports and reducing food waste. Mohammad Shihab, CEO, DP World Egypt, said, “Covering 16,194 sqm, the facility will feature eight independently controlled temperature chambers with a capacity for 25,000 pallet positions, suitable for chilled and frozen products including fruits, vegetables, dairy, and other perishables. The project is a milestone for Egypt’s cold chain development. Integrated with DP World’s Sokhna Port, freight network, and the upcoming Sokhna Logistics Park, the facility will create an end-to-end logistics solution, enhancing efficiency, reducing supply chain costs, and opening new markets for exporters.”
