SUMEA opens 12,000 sqm trade hub in Jafza

SUMEA has opened a 12,000 sqm logistics and trade hub in DP World's Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), bringing its sourcing, procurement, warehousing and distribution operations under one roof. The facility will serve as the company's regional headquarters and support the movement of goods to more than 75 countries.

The new hub is expected to make it easier for businesses to source products, consolidate shipments and re-export cargo from a single location. By combining multiple supply chain functions in one facility, it can reduce handling time and improve the flow of goods to markets across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

The facility has been secured under a 20-year agreement with Jafza and will handle a wide range of products, including consumer electronics, building materials, retail goods and industrial equipment.

SUMEA started as a consumer goods business in the Republic of Congo and has expanded into an international sourcing and supply chain company with a network of more than 300 suppliers, including global brands and OEM manufacturers.

The Dubai hub will also support procurement for the group's businesses in the Republic of Congo, Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Along with its offices in Singapore and China, the new facility strengthens the company's supply chain network and adds capacity for future trade and distribution activities from Dubai.
