Tiaca white paper shares 20% growth of global air cargo

TIACA has revealed its inaugural white paper dedicated to e-commerce giving a detailed global outlook on one of the fastest-growing trends in air logistics, said Steven Polmans, Chair, TIACA. Titled ‘E-Commerce: Opportunities & Challenges’, the report highlights that by the end of 2024 — e-commerce accounted for 20 per cent of global volumes, with projections suggesting these could double within the next decade. Created by TIACA’s multi-sector E-Commerce Task Force — the 16-chapter report examines market trends, trade lane shifts, safety and security risks, customs and border management, process simplification and sustainability, added Polmans. It also explores operational challenges for airlines, ground handlers and freight forwarders, high-frequency shipments and integrating final-mile solutions.
