The UAE has launched a new initiative designed to

combine the transformative power of technology with sustainability and inclusivity of global trade, Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade and MC13 Chair, said. The initiative was launched during the TradeTech Forum, occurring parallel to the 13th Ministerial Conference of WTO in Abu Dhabi. “It underlines UAE’s commitment to champion the development of TradeTech tools and overarching regulatory frameworks that will enable their global deployment,” he added. The initiative seeks to leverage the advancing AI in supply chains and boost contribution of global trade. The initiative has identified ways and means to make an immediate impact, including optimising shipping routes to reduce fuel consumption and emissions; improving logistics operations, developing climate-resilient trade infrastructure and forecasting extreme weather events among others.” Based in the UAE, the programme has confirmed partners such as ADIA Lab, Core42, Mohamed bin Zayed University of AI and Maqta Gateway–AD Ports Group’s digital arm.
