Air cargo capacity between Ireland and the Middle East has increased after a new freighter service began operating between Dublin and Istanbul. Globe Air Cargo Ireland, part of ECS Group, has launched a second dedicated freighter flight with Turkish Cargo, doubling cargo capacity on the Dublin–Istanbul route. The new weekly service uses an Airbus A330-200F freighter with about 65 tonnes of capacity and operates every Tuesday.

The additional freighter is expected to support growing trade flows between Ireland and markets across the Middle East and Asia. Istanbul is a key transit hub for cargo moving between Europe and the Gulf, making the route important for time-sensitive shipments.

The extra capacity will mainly support high-value and fast-moving goods such as pharmaceuticals, technology products, e-commerce shipments, perishables, express cargo and general freight.

The second freighter will give exporters and logistics companies more space and flexibility while improving supply chain reliability. It also strengthens Dublin’s role as an air cargo gateway linking Europe with the Middle East and beyond.
