Türkiye, Egypt target $15bn trade volume

Türkiye and Egypt are targeting $15 billion in bilateral trade, with stronger commercial links expected to support cargo flows and logistics activity between the two markets. The higher trade target could increase demand for freight forwarding, road transport, shipping and other logistics services connecting Türkiye and Egypt.

Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister, Türkiye, said: “We will reach our $15 billion trade volume target.” He added that coordination between the two countries’ private sectors was set to deepen further and could serve as a model for the wider world.

Greater movement of manufactured goods, consumer products and other cargo could also strengthen trade routes linking Europe, Africa and the Middle East. For logistics operators, higher volumes could create opportunities to expand services and improve connections between the two markets.

Türkiye and Egypt have been rebuilding economic ties since restoring full diplomatic relations in 2023. The two countries have since increased cooperation across several areas, including trade and business.

The $15 billion target could support more regular cross-border cargo movement and create stronger links between supply chains in Türkiye and Egypt. It could also increase the role of both markets as gateways for goods moving between neighbouring regions, supporting demand for transport, warehousing and freight services.
