Türkiye-US trade is expected to reach $42-43bn in 2026 and rise to $50bn by the end of 2028, creating scope for increased cargo and logistics activity between the two markets. Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said trade between the countries is growing by more than 10% annually based on data from the first eight months of the year.

The US is Türkiye’s second-largest export market and fourth-largest source of imports, supporting regular flows of goods between the two countries. Rising trade volumes are expected to increase demand for transport, freight forwarding and other supply chain services.

Bolat said investment flows are also expanding into logistics, alongside manufacturing, energy, aviation and digital sectors.

“Bilateral trade is expected to reach $42-43bn this year,” Bolat told Anadolu Agency.

Around 2,300 US companies have invested $16.5bn in Türkiye, while Turkish companies have invested nearly $14.5bn in the US. Bolat said private-sector initiatives and trade delegations are supporting stronger commercial links.

The two countries are also continuing negotiations on customs tariffs introduced by Washington in April 2025, which could affect future trade flows and logistics costs.
