The UAE and Australia met in Dubai to discuss ways to expand trade, with strong attention on logistics and supply chains. The talks took place during the second Joint Economic Committee meeting held under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which came into force last year.

Both sides agreed that smoother trade flows depend on efficient logistics and reliable supply chains. Discussions focused on reducing trade barriers, improving customs processes and supporting companies that move goods between the two countries. The UAE highlighted its position as a global logistics hub, with advanced ports, airports and transport links that connect Asia, Europe and Africa, making it an attractive base for Australian exporters.

UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi said, “The UAE and Australia share many opportunities for cooperation, and our focus is on helping businesses benefit from CEPA by making trade and investment easier and more efficient.”

The meeting also covered cooperation in freight, transport infrastructure and digital trade solutions, as well as support for small and medium-sized businesses. Officials noted that non-oil trade between the two countries has grown steadily in recent years, showing rising demand and stronger supply chain links between the UAE and Australia.
