UAE exports US$599 billion worth goods, ranks 11th globally

The UAE has been ranked 11th globally in exports in 2022 with the total value of its goods trade amounting to US$599 billion. The UAE also ranked first in the Middle East and Africa in goods and service exports and imports, maintaining its position as the leading market in the region.

The country accounted for 2.4 per cent of global merchandise exports with a 41 per cent growth. When the EU countries are treated as a single group, the UAE ranks seventh globally, as per the World Trade Outlook and Statistics report issued by the WTO recently.

The report stated UAE ranked 18th globally in terms of merchandise imports in 2022, which went up by 22 per cent to reach US$425 billion and accounted for 1.7 per cent of the world’s merchandise imports. When the EU countries are treated as a group, the UAE ranks 13th globally. His Highness Dr.

Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, said, “The forward-looking policies implemented by the UAE government in line with the directives of the wise leadership continue to prove their ability to support the country’s economic position globally.”
