The UAE and Slovakia are looking to deepen logistics ties, with plans to improve transport connectivity and infrastructure between the Gulf and Central Europe. Non-oil trade between the two countries reached $812.7 million in 2025, highlighting growing economic links.

“Our commitment to enhancing bilateral relations will unlock new opportunities for trade and investment across key sectors,” said Fahad Al Gergawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade.

A key area of focus is the modernisation of the Port of Bratislava, which could strengthen cargo movement through Central Europe and improve access to regional markets. The two countries are also considering the re-establishment of direct air links between Dubai and Bratislava as part of efforts to improve connectivity.

Beyond transport, cooperation is being expanded in sectors including energy, green technologies, agriculture, healthcare, digitalisation and cybersecurity. Opportunities in emerging industries such as green hydrogen, smart transportation, space technology and waste management are also being explored.

Improved transport infrastructure and connectivity could help businesses move goods more efficiently, reduce transit times and strengthen supply chains linking the UAE with European markets.
