UAE strengthens air cargo sector by launching CARDS

GCAA launched CARDS to provide a view of air cargo movements to, from and through the UAE by analysing the performance of airlines, ground handlers and express service providers, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, and, Chairman, Board of Directors, General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), said.

“In addition to the UAE’s continuous investment in developing its capabilities and potential in this key sector, the Cargo Data Reporting System (CARDS) is a new step towards the UAE’s global leadership in this sector.

It provides a data repository to monitor challenges and identify obstacles that may face air cargo movements to, from and through the country, which support the UAE’s development and economic plans.

The pans are in line with ‘We the UAE 2031’ Vision’s objectives to make the UAE a global centre for the new economy and the transition to future sectors such as aviation and logistics,” the Minister added.
