WestJet Cargo is adding three new destinations—Chicago, Moncton, and Incheon. On May 16, WestJet Cargo commenced cargo sales for the Chicago route, connecting Calgary to Chicago three times a week. This will increase to daily flights by June 17 and will be a year-round service. The route will operate with 737 aircraft and offers a cargo capacity of 2,700 kg per flight, primarily for perishables. This marks the opening of WestJet Cargo’s passenger belly network in addition to their existing weekly freighter service to Chicago. The Moncton route was launched on May 17 to address the growing demands of the Canadian market. Also utilising 737 aircraft, this route links Moncton with Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto, with up to daily flights to Calgary, three to four weekly flights to Edmonton, and three to five weekly flights to Toronto. “These new routes will enhance our ability to serve the Canadian market by offering greater capacity and more options for our customers,” Kirsten De Bruijn, Executive Vice President, WestJet Cargo, said.
