The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) recorded AED 491 billion in total trade in 2025, up 46% from the previous year. Total trade volume also rose 50% to 667,800 tons. Imports remained the main driver of growth for the third consecutive year, while machinery, electrical equipment and electronics made up most of the activity. DIEZ’s share in Dubai’s non-oil trade increased to 16%, as the emirate’s external trade crossed AED 3 trillion. China stayed the largest trading partner, followed by Saudi Arabia and India.
His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, said: “The 2025 results confirm that DIEZ’s growth reflects genuine expansion in trade flows and cargo movement, rather than temporary price-driven factors.”
The increase in both trade value and trade volume shows stronger movement of goods through DIEZ compared to previous years. Electronics and machinery continued to dominate trade, while precious stones and metals also contributed significantly. Together, these sectors made up most of DIEZ’s total trade.
Trade with regional partners, especially Saudi Arabia, also increased during the year, while China remained the top source and destination for goods. Overall, the data reflects higher trade flows passing through Dubai’s economic zones in 2025 compared to 2024.
