DP World has teamed up with UAE-based Maalexi to improve access to a diverse range of food products at Jebel Ali Port, a critical hub for the Gulf region. The collaboration will harness DP World’s extensive global network and advanced temperature-controlled storage facilities at Jebel Ali Port. This setup will enable faster delivery times and a wider variety of food products, enhancing efficiency for UAE businesses and the broader region.
“By leveraging our world-class infrastructure and Maalexi’s innovative technology, we can ensure efficient movement of food products and strengthen food security,” Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director, DP World GCC, said. Highlighting the impact of the partnership, “The Jebel Ali facility will enhance visibility and supply for buyers, enabling quick purchases and benefiting from our risk management tools, Dr. Azam Pasha, Co-founder and CEO, Maalexi, said.
This partnership follows DP World’s recent US $150 million investment in a new Agri Terminals facility at Jebel Ali Port, underscoring their commitment to food security. The UAE imports approximately US $ 24 billion in food annually, nearly half of the GCC’s total, with Jebel Ali handling almost three-quarters of the UAE’s food and beverage trade by value.
