Emirates SkyCargo has upgraded its on-road fleet with 40 next-generation Euro 6 trucks from MAN, marking the first use of long-haul, heavy commercial Euro 6 vehicles in the Middle East. The move is expected to cut annual CO2 emissions from trucking by 17 per cent, as part of the airline’s broader push for fuel and emissions-saving initiatives in ground operations.

The trucks will operate across the 77-kilometre corridor linking Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, handling over 1,000 tonnes of cargo daily. Equipped with AI-powered driver monitoring, reverse cameras, blind-spot detection, and GPS-enabled cloud tracking, the vehicles are designed to boost both safety and real-time operational oversight.

The adoption of Euro 6 trucks complements Emirates SkyCargo’s earlier order of five hydrogen-powered trucks, reflecting the airline’s long-term commitment to sustainable logistics. Industry partners note that the integration of advanced vehicle technology and data-driven fleet management sets new efficiency standards for regional cargo operations.

By deploying modern trucks and smart monitoring systems, Emirates SkyCargo is strengthening Dubai’s role as a global trade hub, ensuring faster, safer, and greener movement of goods across the city’s dual-airport network.
