Air cargo volumes from the Middle East rose sharply in the first full week of February, showing a strong rebound after recent disruptions in the region. According to the latest weekly data from WorldACD Market Data, tonnages from the Middle East & South Asia (MESA) region increased by 7% week on week in week 6 (2–8 February).

The biggest jump was seen on routes to the United States, where volumes surged by 12% compared to the previous week. Dubai recorded a strong 20% rise in shipments to the US, recovering from a steep decline the week before that was linked to flight disruptions amid US–Iran tensions. India also posted solid growth, with volumes to the US up 14% week on week. Bangladesh continued its upward trend, registering a further 17% increase.

Cargo flows from the Middle East to Europe also strengthened, rising 6% week on week. However, analysts note that this corridor has seen volatility in recent weeks, making it harder to identify a clear long-term pattern. The latest figures suggest that the Middle East air cargo market is regaining momentum, with key trade lanes to the US and Europe driving growth despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
