Gulftainer has officially opened the UAE’s first bonded Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Sharjah — a strategic development set to enhance the country’s logistics infrastructure and trade efficiency, said Farid Belbouab, Group CEO of Gulftainer. Located 20 km from Sharjah Port and 140 km from Khorfakkan Port, the Sharjah ICD provides easy multimodal connectivity between seaports and inland markets. Equipped with advanced mobile container handling equipment and high-speed IT systems, the ICD integrates with regional and international supply chains, enabling faster cargo movement and improved reliability. The facility is designed to accelerate customs processing, reduce operational costs and offer flexible, cost-effective solutions for importers, exporters, carriers and NVOCCs, he added.
