GWC Group has launched an air-to-land logistics corridor in Doha that connects air freight arriving at Hamad International Airport with cross-border trucking across the GCC. The new route is designed to speed up regional cargo distribution, improve supply chain reliability and offer an alternative to traditional air-to-air cargo movements.
The corridor uses the TIR international transit system, allowing cargo to move under a single customs document and guarantee. Shipments arriving by air are transferred into sealed trucks and transported to destinations in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
Setrak Khatchikian, Senior Vice President – GCC Transportation at GWC Group, said the new route allows cargo to move across GCC countries under a single TIR document, combining air freight with cross-border trucking.
The model enables cargo to be redistributed from Doha instead of relying on multiple air connections. This can help reduce border delays, simplify customs procedures and improve delivery times for regional shipments.
The corridor is expected to support sectors that depend on fast deliveries, including e-commerce, pharmaceuticals and other time-sensitive cargo. By combining air freight with road transport, it also provides another routing option for cargo moving across the GCC.
