Ghassan Aboud Automotive has signed an agreement with commercial vehicle manufacturer IVECO to distribute its trucks and provide aftersales support in Syria, a move that will strengthen the country's transport and logistics sector as reconstruction gathers pace. Under the deal, its subsidiary Grand Auto & Machinery Co. (GAMCO) will manage sales, servicing and spare parts across the country.

The partnership is expected to improve access to commercial vehicles for freight operators, logistics companies and businesses involved in construction and supply chains. A local sales and service network can help reduce vehicle downtime, improve fleet reliability and ensure easier access to maintenance and spare parts, which are critical for cargo movement.

Shahram Falati, IVECO Country Manager for Africa & Middle East, said: " We are pleased to partner with Ghassan Aboud Automotive and GAMCO to bring IVECO's world-class commercial vehicles to Syria. By combining IVECO's global expertise with GAMCO's growing local capabilities and customer-focused approach, we aim to provide reliable, efficient, and sustainable transport solutions that enhance productivity, strengthen businesses, and contribute to Syria’s long-term economic recovery.”

GAMCO will distribute IVECO's range of light, medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles through its dealership in Syria. The company will also provide aftersales support through service centres, trained technicians, mobile service vans and a nationwide spare parts network.

The agreement expands IVECO's presence in the Syrian market while strengthening GAMCO's commercial vehicle business. Both companies said the partnership aims to support the country's long-term transport, logistics and economic recovery by improving the availability of reliable commercial vehicles and maintenance services.
