Julphar (Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries) has signed a long-term lease at Modon’s 3rd Industrial City in Jeddah to set up a major pharmaceutical manufacturing and logistics hub, investing around SAR 300 million to support local production, strengthen supply chains, and boost exports to GCC and global markets.

The facility will be built on a 45,000 sqm site in one of Saudi Arabia’s key industrial zones, chosen mainly for its logistics advantages. Its location in Jeddah ensures quick access to ports, highways, and regional trade routes, allowing smooth movement of raw materials and finished medicines across Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Sheikh Saqr bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman, Julphar, said, “The establishment of Julphar’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia marks a strategic milestone in our expansion journey. It reflects our strong commitment to support pharma logistics in the Kingdom.

We are proud to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s industrial development and to support the objectives of Vision 2030 through technology transfer, localisation of expertise, and the creation of sustainable industrial capabilities for future generations.”

Once operational, the site is expected to support wider logistics activities such as warehousing, cold chain handling, and pharmaceutical distribution. The project is designed to reduce reliance on imports and improve the availability of essential medicines in the Kingdom.

The Jeddah plant will also act as an export base, supplying pharmaceutical products to GCC countries, the US, and other international markets. It will be integrated into Julphar’s global manufacturing network, which currently exports medicines to more than 40 countries.

The facility will manufacture sterile injectables, oral solid dosage forms, biologics, and specialty medicines, meeting international quality and regulatory standards. The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by strengthening industrial capacity, improving health security, and building more resilient pharmaceutical logistics and supply chains.
