Eli Lilly and Mubadala Bio have agreed to develop local packaging and logistics for Lilly’s GLP-1 medicines in Abu Dhabi. The partnership will use a 125,000-square-metre site in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), with packaging and warehousing facilities to support pharmaceutical supply chains.

The project will strengthen local capabilities in pharmaceutical packaging, storage and contract manufacturing, while helping international drug companies serve markets from the UAE.

The agreement also supports Abu Dhabi’s plans to expand its life sciences sector and build stronger links with global pharmaceutical supply chains. Mubadala Bio is developing its pharmaceutical manufacturing and logistics operations to support medicine supply and serve regional and international markets.

The companies announced the collaboration at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026.

“By bringing Lilly’s global medicines expertise together with Mubadala Bio’s capabilities, we have the opportunity to develop advanced pharmaceutical capabilities in the UAE,” said Nabil Daoud, president and general manager of Lilly’s Intercontinental Hub.

The partnership adds to the UAE’s efforts to build local pharmaceutical capabilities and strengthen its role in the storage, packaging and movement of medicines across international markets.
