QR Cargo is set to boost its weekly capacity to and from Australia by 180 tonnes through a new partnership with Virgin Australia, bringing the airline’s total capacity to 400 tonnes per week, said Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo, QR Cargo. Beginning from June, Virgin Australia will operate daily Boeing 777 flights linking Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth with Doha. “Australia plays a pivotal role in global trade, and it is essential for us to empower its exporters with the best possible connectivity. Our expertise in safeguarding perishables and pharma positions us as the trusted partner for Australia’s trade ambitions. This partnership with Virgin Australia significantly increases capacity available to Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne — a major improvement in global cargo capacity for exporters,” Drusch added
