Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Jordan recorded 6,164 tonnes of cargo in November 2025, marking a 2% increase compared to the same month last year. While modest, this growth highlights QAIA’s ongoing role as a key cargo hub in the Middle East.

However, cumulative cargo volumes from January to November 2025 fell to 64,237 tonnes, an 8% decline compared to the same period in 2024. Analysts point to shifting trade patterns across the Middle East and changing global supply chains as factors influencing air freight volumes in the region.

QAIA continues to serve as a vital link for Middle Eastern trade, connecting Jordan to major markets in Europe, Asia, and neighboring countries. Investments in cargo infrastructure and logistics operations are helping streamline handling, improve efficiency, and reduce turnaround times for freight shipments.

Industry observers say that the airport’s strategic location in the Middle East positions it to benefit from growing cross-border trade and e-commerce demand. With ongoing upgrades to cargo facilities and operational processes, QAIA is expected to strengthen its role as a regional air freight hub, supporting both import and export flows throughout the Middle East despite the current slower growth in volumes.
