A temporary “green corridor” has been launched between Oman and Dubai to speed up the movement of cargo shipments that were diverted from their original destination, helping reduce pressure on regional supply chains. The initiative allows containers that were initially meant to arrive at Jebel Ali Port but were redirected to Omani ports to be quickly transported to Dubai by bonded trucks after simplified customs checks.
The measure, introduced through coordination between Oman’s Directorate General of Customs and Dubai Customs, is aimed at keeping trade moving despite disruptions affecting shipping routes and logistics operations in the region.
Under the arrangement, containers arriving at ports in Oman will complete basic customs procedures before being moved directly by land to Dubai. The process is designed to minimise delays, reduce administrative hurdles and ensure cargo can reach distribution hubs without major disruption.
The corridor applies to most goods, although some restricted items listed in the customs notice are excluded. Certain air cargo shipments originally destined for Dubai but redirected through Oman may also be transferred using the same channel.
For logistics companies, freight forwarders and shipping lines, the move provides a faster route to move diverted cargo and maintain delivery schedules. Officials say the step strengthens supply chain resilience and highlights growing operational cooperation between the UAE and Oman during periods of logistical disruption.
